Basic – A single layer of 7-10 oz veg tan leather with a grooved border. No padding or lining
Pros
- Lightweight
- Flexible
- Most economically priced
Cons
- Not as much traction as the suede lining
- Leather may stretch a bit without stitching
Stitched – A single layer of 7-10 oz veg tan leather with stitching going around the border. The stitching is mostly for cosmetic reasons, though it does help prevent stretching.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Flexible
- Helps prevent stretching
Cons
- Not as much traction as the suede lining
- No cushion (padding)
Suede Lined – A layer of thick suede is hand stitched to the back of the leather where the sling makes contact with your body (tips of the sling are no lined). Note: color of the suede is subject to availability.
Pros
- Traction to reduce slipping
- Flexible
- Lightweight
Cons
- Not as much cushion as the padded option
Padded – Our most luxurious option. A layer of foam padding (approximately ⅜” thick) is stitched between leather and suede lining.
Note: color of the suede is subject to availability.
Pros
- The leather sits off the shoulder a bit to prevent it from cutting into the shoulder when worn for long periods of time or if the gun is heavy
- Cushion provides comfort
- Traction to reduce slipping
Cons
- Stiffer/less flexible
- Bulkier
- Slightly more weight
